About my drum lessons and teaching approach
As a drum teacher with over 17 years of experience and having studied over 70 different drum books of all kinds, I believe in tailoring my teaching approach to each student's level, goals, capabilities, musical tastes, and professional aspirations. I have a well-rounded understanding of drumming, which enables me to teach students of all levels from the very basics to the most advanced levels. My teaching style incorporates various systems to help students progress in a solid, progressive, and efficient manner.
I specialize in a variety of music genres, including pop, rock, soul, funk, R&B, Cuban and Brazilian music, Flamenco, and World music beats. Additionally, I am well-versed in jazz, swing, and various other musical genres.
My expertise in drumming extends to areas such as vocabulary, rudiments, reading/transcribing, stylistic awareness, basic and advanced drum techniques, independence/coordination exercises, professional tips for musicianship career, recording industry, and the entertainment industry. I can also provide guidance on recording drums.
